The "Wire Leech":

This is a new fly, you must use a dubbing brush to tie this fly. To make a dubbing brush with marabou is very easy. In these pictures I will show how to make a dubbing brush using a AAA vise. First you need some fine artist wire, .011-.007 is good. Mount a hook in you vise like the picture below and loop the wire around it. mount the other loose ends of the wire in another vise or something temporary until you have put the marabou into the wire. Use a high tack wax on the wire so that the marabou will stay in place until you spin it. Thread chunks of the feathers through the wire like so.

Once you have completed this step, take hold of the loose end and begin to twist at the vise. you will end up with this.

Cut the wire from the vise. Then double it over and twist it again until you have something like this.

Mount a hook and tie on the wire tight. This will be your only tie, unless you give it a collar of some sort. When finished it should look like below.

Give it a good whip finish and clip the front and trim off to match the hook.

This fly has tremendous action under water with slim profile. Bend the wire a bit when trolling and it will spin under water.
