Bait Knots: |
|
|
|
Bait knots are tied when using up eye hooks, primarily
Octopus style hooks. The knot is designed to do; pull straight on the
shank for a good hook set and, to hold yarn, roe, worm and shrimp. So
here is a good version of a bait knot which will cramp you finger for
sure.
First thread the Tag end through the eye backward, from shank out.
Now take the tag end and wrap back down the shank over the running line toward the bend, about 10-15x.
Take the running line and thread it through the eye backwards (from shank out), this will create a loop.
With the tag end again wrap around the shank toward the bend over the loop that was created by the running line. After 8-12 wraps thread the tag end through the loop.
Now pull the running line tight bringing the loop into the last wraps and locking the tag end in the knot. Trim the tag end and go fishing.
